Mueller Yurgae Associates (MYA), a leading regional food broker serving retailers and manufacturers across the Midwest and beyond, has acquired Minnesota-based Timmons Sheehan Company. The acquisition was effective October 1, 2026.
MYA and Timmons Sheehan have a long history of working together to grow brands and serve clients and customers, including sharing office space in the Minneapolis area. The acquisition brings the two organizations together under the MYA name, building on an established partnership and expanding the resources and expertise available to the brands they represent.
“Timmons Sheehan has been a trusted partner of MYA for many years, and we are excited to officially bring our teams together,” said Jeff Yurgae, President of Mueller Yurgae Associates. “We know their people, we know the quality of their work, and we share the same commitment to our clients and customers. Bringing our organizations together is a natural next step that strengthens our team and allows us to provide even greater service to the brands we represent.”
All Timmons Sheehan employees have joined MYA and will continue working with the clients and customers they serve today, providing continuity throughout the transition.
“MYA and Timmons Sheehan have always worked closely together, and our organizations share many of the same values, relationships and goals,” said Doug Blake, President of Timmons Sheehan, who will continue with MYA as a senior leader, assisting with the transition. “Joining our companies gives our team access to additional resources and capabilities while maintaining the relationships and service our clients have come to expect. Most importantly, it brings together a tremendous group of people who understand this industry and are committed to helping our clients succeed.”
As part of the integration, Jake Durand and Ryan Blake will take on leadership roles within MYA, helping lead the company’s Target, UNFI and Midwest grocery teams. Timmons Sheehan brings extensive experience with these customers and has already worked closely alongside MYA in many of these areas.
The acquisition will also simplify how MYA represents its business in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Grocery Group (WGG) was established as a partnership between MYA, Shankman & Associates and Timmons Sheehan to provide expanded coverage and support for clients and retailers throughout the Wisconsin market. With MYA and Timmons Sheehan now operating as one organization, the WGG brand will be retired.
MYA and Shankman & Associates will continue their partnership in Wisconsin, with the same dedicated team supporting manufacturers and retailers across the market. Moving forward, the organizations will operate directly under the established Mueller Yurgae Associates and Shankman & Associates brands.
Over the coming months, the Timmons Sheehan brand will transition to Mueller Yurgae Associates as the organizations complete the integration process. Clients and customers can expect continuity throughout the transition, supported by the same relationships and experienced teams, along with the expanded resources and capabilities of MYA.
